Biography

German painter, draughtsman and graphic artist

Reiffenstein was a very skilful painter and watercolour artist. He created paintings, drawings and etchings of landscapes, old towns and buildings, mainly in Germany.

In 1851/52 he stayed in Italy, varified by some paintings with Italian motifes.

By the very detailed way he used the brush and through the light and delicate colours of his pictures his sense for subtle nuances clearly can be seen.
