Reinermann was a pupil of J.A.B. Nothnagel (1729-1804) in Frankfurt / Main and of L. Ducros (1747-1810) in Rome.
From 1793-1803 he worked for the publisher Chr. von Mechel (1737-1817) and travelled through Switzerland. From 1803 he lived in Frankfurt, from 1811-18 in Wetzlar. 1818 he became a professor at the art school in Frankfurt.
Reinermann mainly made landscape paintings in watercolours and sepia. Most of them he published as aquatint series as well for which he gained much recognition.
